Please read the SAFETY details below:UV Safety InformationTo Whom It May Concern:Ultra-Violet Products (UVP) manufacture many UV lamps, all of which can bedivided into one of four catagories. Safety with UV is paramount. Pleaseconsult the list below for advice in regard to which safety precautions arerequired with your lamp. If there is anything that you do not understand orneed clarification on, then please contact your local UVP representative.365nm Longwave BLB (tubes are purple)This type of UV is harmless. It is the type of UV that is used in a nightclub to checkinvisible ink stamps on customers hands. These lamps are not at all dangerousunless the filter is damaged in which case they should not be used.365nm Longwave UV (tubes are white)Longwave UV is at the least harmful end of the UV spectrum. It should still howeverbe treated with caution and for very powerful units (above 25 Watts) it isrecommended that UV protective spectacles are worn whilst the lamp is on.302nm Midrange UV (tubes are white)302nm is also known as 310nm and 312nm by other manufacturers. Midrange UVshould be treated with vigilant caution. Users of midrange UV lamps should alwayswear either UV Protective Goggles or a UV Protective Face Shield. It should benoted that reflected UV is also dangerous and that this should be considered whenwearing a Face Shield and working over a reflective surface.254nm Shortwave UV (tubes are clear)Shortwave UV is the most dangerous of the UV wavelengths. It can cause arc-eye (apainful sand like feeling in the eyes) and / or burn the skin. Users of shortwave UVshould ALWAYS protect themselves by wearing long sleeves and a UV ProtectiveFace Shield. Again, it should be noted that reflected UV is also dangerous and thatthis should be considered when wearing a Face Shield and working over a reflectivesurface. On a light spectrum, shortwave UV is next to X-Rays.UVP Protective EyewearUVP Part Number 98-0002-01 UV Protective SpectaclesUVP Part Number 98-0002-02 UV Protective GogglesUVP Part Number 98-0002-04 UV Protective Face Shield |
